Jim Winstanley began playing the Cornet at School before progressing to Chorley Military Band at the age of 14. After relocating to Sandbach in 1974, Jim joined the Middlewich Town Band, conducted by Colin Cranson.

Jim left Middlewich due to illness in 1979 but after a break of twenty years rejoined the band, now known as the Roberts Bakery Band, on Eb Bass before making the switch to BBb Bass in 2002.

Jim has twenty years experience as a service manager and technical services manager before his retirement in 2007. He was appointed the Manager of Roberts Bakery Band in November 2009 and can be contacted by any of the means shown above.
